Favorite Lines from the Movie: "Oh Honey, did you start your own cult?" "Shut up and hold onto your nipples." Mox: "I do not have a skinny ass. I think I have a very nice ass." Reviews Batman This movie was a lot better than I expected. Of course, I had very low expectations for it. It was an uneven movie. It never seemed to decide if it wanted to be a serious movie about a town's obsession with high school football or if wanted to be the latest version of Porky's. If it had settled on one or the other it would have been a much better movie. The two different styles were constantly interfering with each other, disrupting the rhythm. This was probably due to the over the top goodness of the lead character, Mox. He was always doing the right thing. Skipping the wild party, not getting into the stolen police car full of naked women, not having sex with the head cheerleader, reading books and so on. Of course he completely loses this momentarily when he takes his teammates out for an all night drinking fest at a strip club. This relentless good behavior would have worked perfectly with a serious movie. However it was always clashing against the teens run wild attitude also present in the movie. Jon Voight did an excellent job as the evil dictatorial coach. The town's obsession seemed a bit unreal to me, but it could be my background. My high school's team once lost four straight games by a combined total of 200 points. Needless to say, school spirit was not our strong suit. Lanceley Mad Matt Biscuit |
