The latest edition of the Untitled Deadpool Column contains a review of this movie's script. It's a glowing account well worth a read.

The reports just keep rolling in on this movie. They must be announcing the shooting schedule on the local news down there. Anyway, 'Anonymous' shares some more exciting details with us.

This morning (June 4th)they were filming in Freedom Park. One guy was acting like a dog and was on his hands and knees with a dog tail wagging from his behind. Jason Alexander and Jack Black were on set this afternoon at a "sorority house" in the Dilworth area. Tomorrow the crew will be returning to Freedom Park with Gwyneth if weather permits. The cast all seems very friendly and I have gotten my pictures and autographs from everyone.

Shooting continues in Charlotte and we've got an interesting report from the set for you. We've had a few reports from the set so far but this is the first to bring up this particular issue. Has anyone else in that area noticed this?

I saw the crew filming "Shallow Hal" on Wed. June 6 at Phillips Place in Charlotte, NC. Jason Alexander impressed me as quite professional. I'm sure I saw Gwyneth's "fat" self, but not so sure I saw Gwyneth, herself. Was she there??? If she was the one smoking by Coplon's, wearing a purple shirt, and jeans, then SHE IS TOO THIN. I'm a psychotherapist and cognizant of such problems as anorexia. If that was G., then she certainly has an eating disorder. I really admire her work, however, if she is ill, she could help many others by going public. I suggest you lay off Calista Flockard, and approach G. If she is ill, this would certainly coincide with her having requested "macrobiotic cakes" from Talley's Grocers last week (for filming). I believe this may be a story of note, if indeed this talented actress is suffering from an illness that affects so many with so much less going for then than she.

We got a little scoop dropped in our mailbox today.

This past Monday, they were filming Shallow Hal at Freedom Park. Gwyneth was interviewed by Entertainment Tonight which will air tonight. Jack Black, Jason Alexander, and Gwyneth's huge body double were on the set. They also filmed these 2 people using their hands to skate on rollerblades. May 17th, 18th, and 21st they will be filming on South Blvd. at a restaurant.

The movie is currently shooting in Charlotte, North Carolina. Coming Attractions was lucky enough to get some shots from the set. The first one shows Jack Black while the second is a photo of Gwyneth Paltrow's stand in. That should give us a good idea of what she'll look like in the fat suit.

It sounds like the Farrelly's are going to take it a bit easy on audiences this time around. "This is going to be a much sweeter picture than our last one (Me, Myself & Irene)," Bobby Farrelly told Empire Online. "It's gonna be a PG-13 movie. Hal (Black) is this incredibly shallow guy. When he was nine years old his dad was dying and he goes in to see him and say goodbye and his dad just gives him horrible advice about life because he's all doped up on morphine. He basically tells him not to care about anything and to judge people on their appearance."

'Later he meets a hypnotist who puts a spell on him and he begins to see the inner beauty of people. He meets this girl who everyone else sees as rather unattractive. But he sees Gwyneth Paltrow, because she's such a wonderful person on the inside, and he falls madly in love with her. Then the spell gets lifted, and what we do here is put Gwyneth in a big prosthetic suit like Eddie Murphy in The Nutty Professor. She's this big fat girl and he has to decide whether he still loves her for who she is. It's kind of a nice story."

The work is done on Me, Myself and Irene so the Farrelly brothers turn their attention to their next project, Shallow Hal. Peter Farrelly talked about the movie with Popcorn. "It's about a guy, Hal," Peter says. "The movie opens with his father on his deathbed and he's all jacked up with morphine and Hal's 11-years-old. Hal's basically come to the hospital room to say goodbye to his father. Cos his father's all jacked up with morphine, he gives him all the wrong advice. He's saying, 'Big tits, just find big tits! Forget about love!' Hal says 'Really? Forget love?!'

"We cut to 25 years later and Hal's a mess. The movie is basically Hal trying to find true love, being this shallow guy, and finally finding the decent guy who was inside him. It's a lot of fun."

Gwyneth Paltrow has already been cast in the movie. Rumors have floated around that Tom Cruise may be interested in playing Hal now that he has a little free time while waiting to make Minority Report with Stephen Spielberg next year.

Following the upcoming Me, Myself and Irene, there next project looks to be Shallow Hal, the story of a man who promises his dying father to only date hot chicks and then grows up and falls in love with a less than handsome woman. Rumor has it that Tom Cruise is seriously considering taking the lead role. He's got a little time on his hands at the moment. Minority Report is sure to be delayed due to Steven Spielberg's recent kidney operation so Cruise needs something to do in the meantime. This would certainly be a unique choice for him.

I'm a big fan of the Farrelly brothers' movies. These guys have taken bad taste low brow humor and made it into an art form. As far as I'm concerned, unless they suddenly develop taste, their movies will be carefully covered here. Remember, I don't just cover bad movies here but movies in bad taste as well.

Oh yeah, the news. Shallow Hal is their next big production. It tells the story of a young boy whose dying father tells him to only date the young hot women. Flash forward about 30 years where the son meets and falls in love with an ugly woman. Gwyneth Paltrow is in talks to star in the movie. I can't imagine she is supposed to be the ugly woman so there must be another major role not mentioned in the description.

Thanks to Variety.
