Sky News is reporting that he has been offered a role in the movie. It would not be the expected roles like an aging Bruce Wayne or a Commissioner Gordon though. Instead he would be playing the mayor of Gotham.
Reportedly he is pleased with the offer as the character would give him the chance to "show a lighter side to my character in my later years."
This is still considered rumor so don't get to excited yet. It does sound pretty reasonable though.
