Two bits of casting info are making the rounds this morning concerning Christopher Nolan's Batman project.  The first is solid news.  The Hollywood Reporter says that Oscar winner Michael Caine will be taking over the role of Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred Pennyworth.

The second piece of info comes from Batman on Film.  They are reporting that the name Daniel Day-Lewis has been mentioned repeatedly in connection for villain Ra's Al Ghul.  While certainly an intriguing rumor, it seems highly unlikely that Day-Lewis would take an interest in such a project.  Let's call that one hopeful wishing for now.

Caine is apparently still in negotiations for his role so while it seems set, it could still fall apart.  Christian Bale is already set for the title role.  Nolan and David Goyer (Blade) cowrote the script.
